Silk screen placement
The D body flat inside surface is the standard logo placement. The flat portion extends along the length of the body to provide a decent print area. A mark in the upper third is visible on the mark without turning them over, it is the natural hang position. Resize the logo to the proper size for printing, and not for screen use. A scale layout is developed for review.
Laser engraving option
If a text or a mark has to be permanent and precise, then laser engraving can be implemented. The mark is free from any colour but will not rub off under normal use. Ideal for simple logos and texts.

Q1: What does "#5" mean? What is the reason for the use of that appellation in this clip?
The product category designation, "#5", is a designation for the wire gauge standard. The diameter of the wire on #5 is 3.8 mm. This is in the middle weight to medium weight category of aluminium alloy carabiners, being neither too lightweight for key chains or too cheap for everyday use. It is a popular production standard for keychain and accessory carabiners and is used to allow buyers and suppliers to communicate the same size.
Q2: What is the difference between this and a climbing carabiner?
A whole new product. This clip is for light accessories, bags, lanyards and keys for every day carry. Gate is of the "Spring" variety, and the body is not designed to withstand structural loading. A climbing carabiner is a carabiner with a locking gate, a heavy cross section of the body and is rated and tested to meet mountaineering standards. A clip on a keychain is not a good climbing device. Carabiners can be used as keychains, but this is an unnecessary weight and expense.
Q3: May I place an order for one color in small quantity?
Small quantities of standard stock colors are available. A custom Pantone color is a color that is not available in standard stock colors. It will have a batch minimum of 1,000 pcs. For quantities less than 1,000 pcs, please select one of the 8 standard colours. They span a broad range and most projects have a matching that can be used.
Q4: The body is 47 mm. So is that sufficient for all normal key rings?
This body length easily accommodates a standard 25 mm split ring or 30 mm key ring. A cluster of large keys can get cumbersome, but clips. If you are looking for a particular ring type or size, please submit the spec and we will check fit before sampling. There are plenty of normal key carry uses for which the 47 mm body length is enough.
Q5: How long will the anodized finish last? Does it crack or scratch?
Anodizing is not applied to the surface of aluminum, it is part of the aluminum. It is not a chipper like paint. It is easy to get scratches on the surface, which is also to be expected with any metal surface, especially if it is subjected to heavy abrasion over time. A properly anodized finish will not show damage with daily carry, keys in a pocket and a clip on a bag strap as long as the product is used within its normal life.
Q6: Is it possible to get the logo nearer to the gate? Do you have sufficient level ground?
The spring gate is on the straight edge of the D body. The outside curved edge is not suitable for an engraving surface. Logos are placed on the flat inner face. That flat face is closest to the gate at the top and bottom. When natural hang, a mark is visible at the top of the inner face. If you are looking for a logo that can be placed at the gate side in particular, provide us with a sketch and we will let you know before sending a sample what can actually be achieved with this body type.
