It is a triangular aluminium alloy carabiner fitted with a compass. Body is of the classic-triangle outline. On one side there is a spring gate! Gently click to open and click back to close. The compass is easily accessible at the face of the carabiner for outdoor use and as a handy direction reference in one. Surface is anodized. Easy to carry, compact.
It immediately distinguishes itself from the typical D-type clip with its shape. A triangle is different when written on a bag or strap. All three sides of the body edges are rounded so that no part of the bag fabric gets caught or scratched. Spring gate - bare metal finish on top of coloured body. It is easy to use and clean. Only needs one push to open. The compass is not a precision navigation device, but rather an aid to outdoor orientation in emergency situations. Suitable to get your bearings on when needed. It's a valid reason to have it on a bag clip that is otherwise a piece of hardware, since a quick directional check in an unknown location is the sort of situation where a map or GPS app seems like too much effort. The colour of the product is red, as shown in the pictures. Different colours available for larger quantities. Reference length is around 50mm. Sizes will be confirmed at sampling. Can be used daily with keys, water bottles, little torches or webbing attachment. Not recommended for climbing load-bearing.

Bring a picture you drew or made, a picture of a competitor's work, or a picture of your own drawing or sketch. There is an existing stock form called the triangle blank. Structural tooling is not required for color change, logo processes or surface finishings. We verify what can be done before sampling is undertaken.
Standard Stock Colors
Red, black, blue and silver are available as standard anodizing colors, and direct sampling is available. Volume orders can be matched to a Pantone number or to a physical color reference. A separate color sample run is done for confirmation before bulk production. Intensity and depth can be controlled during the anodizing process.
Logo on the Body
The highly recommended process for small, detailed logos is laser engraving. No risk of print wearing off, clean edge reproduction. If the logo requires color, or a larger area of artwork, then silk screen is available. Prior to bulk production, we test the logo size and placement.
Sample Lead Times and MOQ
There is a 2-3 working day sample period for an existing blank with logo or stock color. New anodize color / structural change adds time based on complexity. Volume production is planned by the quantity. Please verify the delivery date before ordering.

Q1: Will the three corners of the triangle cut into the bag material or hand?
The design is rounded at all of the edges. Nothing sharp. The triangle shape is a triangle, but the surfaces of the contacts are smooth. Bag fabric and skin will not be caught or marked with a normal carry and handling.
Q2: Does the compass have waterproof protection? What does it mean when it rains?
The compass is contained within the body. Normal outdoor use splash resistance is acceptable. Rain, accidental falls in a puddle and normal wet conditions are not a concern. This is not designed to be sustained submersion. Complete coverage for use outdoors including damp weather conditions.
Q3: Does the compass work correctly? So what will happen if it falls?
This is not precision navigation but accuracy orientation on a daily basis. As may be necessary to get a general idea of the bearings in an unknown outdoor location. It will not be damaged if it is shorter than normal. The compass is protected and housed inside the body and is reasonably protected from impact. If a compass has stopped working due to a hard fall, please contact us directly, and we will take care of it.
Q4: Will the triangle be able to be attached on all three sides? Which side opens?
The spring gate is only open on one side. The other two are triangle edges with closed ends. The spring gate is used to attach like normal. The three-sided design ensures that the items clipped in sit more securely than on a round or oval ring. Reduced rotation when loaded.
Q5: How is it tethered to webbing?
Attach the webbing in one side of the triangle body or clip the carabiner into a webbing loop or buckle. Then, items are hung from the spring gate as usual. The triangle shape ensures better contact than the round gate clip on woven webbing. The actual width of webbing can be sampled at the design phase.
Q6: Does it come with or without compass?
Yes. The body of the triangle can be plain, not with the compass inset. The body line or shape is identical. The compass is replaced with a flat face. A little cleaner appearance and a lower price of the unit. When you're not using navigation, order the plain triangle version.
